A 19-year-old man has been arrested for misusing social media by publishing video content that violates public morals, the Interior Ministry has announced.
The arrest was made by the Anti-Cybercrime Directorate of the General Directorate of Anti-Corruption and Economic and Electronic Security. The circulated video shows the man, identified as an Asian national, engaging in inappropriate behaviour inside a shop.
Legal measures have been taken to refer the case to the Public Prosecution.
The directorate called on everyone to comply with regulations and laws, exercise responsibility when using social media, and refrain from publishing or circulating any content that violates the law or could undermine public morals.
It affirmed that monitoring of such acts would continue, with legal proceedings to be initiated against violators to preserve public order and protect community values.
