ENDURANCE HORSERACING – His Majesty King Hamad’s representative for humanitarian work and youth affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sport (SCYS) chairman and Royal Endurance Team captain Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa participated in the 100-kilometre international qualifying race held as part of the Ramadhan competitions organised by the Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (Breef) at the Bahrain International Endurance Village.
The event was attended by SCYS first deputy chairman, General Sports Authority chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
The race also saw the participation of Shaikh Hamad bin Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and Shaikh Mohammed bin Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
Shaikh Abdulla bin Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa took part in the 40km local qualifying race and successfully completed it.
Shaikh Nasser followed the performance of his sons during the race and shared his field experience to enhance their technical readiness in endurance competitions.
He highlighted the importance of qualifying races in preparing riders and horses, noting that staging the competitions during Ramadan enhanced the spirit of challenge and competition among participants.
Shaikh Nasser also emphasised the importance of participating alongside his sons in such races, describing them as an opportunity to gain practical experience and instil the values of endurance sport, including patience, discipline and teamwork, contributing to the continued success of Bahrain in the sport.
