No abnormal radiation levels have been recorded in the kingdom’s airspace or territorial waters, the Supreme Council for Environment (SCE) affirmed yesterday after continuous assessment of regional developments, and following the recent Iranian attack on Bahrain.
The council noted that monitoring operations are being conducted around the clock through a nationwide network of radiation and environmental sensors, in co-ordination with relevant national entities.
It added that close co-ordination is ongoing with the GCC Emergency Management Centre, as well as with specialised regional and international organisations, including the International Atomic Energy Agency, to ensure timely and precise tracking of any developments.
It further confirmed that all environmental and radiological indicators remain within normal and safe limits, stressing that there is currently no cause for concern.
The council called on the public to rely solely on official sources for information.
