Bahrain has strongly condemned the blatant Iranian attacks targeting the territory of Kuwait, which caused injuries to 10 members of Kuwait’s Armed Forces and targeted Kuwait International Airport, as well as several civilian, economic, and critical infrastructure sites.
These attacks constitute a serious escalation that threatens regional security and stability, and a flagrant violation of international law and the principles of good neighbourliness.
In a statement, the Foreign Ministry reaffirmed Bahrain’s full solidarity with Kuwait, expressing support for all measures taken to safeguard its sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity.
It also praised the preparedness and professionalism of Kuwait’s Armed Forces in responding to these treacherous and unjustified attacks.
The ministry also extended the kingdom’s wishes for a swift recovery to those injured and for Kuwait’s continued security, stability, and prosperity.
The ministry further called upon the international community, particularly the UN Security Council, to take firm and deterrent measures to stop the blatant Iranian attacks targeting the countries of the region and their peaceful people, in accordance with UN Security Council Resolution 2817 and UN Human Rights Council Resolution 38/61, in order to promote regional and international peace and security.
Bahrain also strongly condemned the terrorist attacks targeting the residence of Nechirvan Barzani, President of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, as well as the residence of Masoud Barzani, leader of the Kurdistan Democratic Party.
The kingdom described these acts as unacceptable assaults and grave threats to the security and stability of Iraq, and as clear violations of international law.
In a statement, the Foreign Ministry reaffirmed Bahrain’s steadfast support for Iraq’s security, stability, unity, and territorial integrity, and expressed its full solidarity with the Kurdistan Regional Government and its people in the face of repeated terrorist attacks on civilian, diplomatic, and energy infrastructure.
The kingdom also reiterated its unequivocal rejection of all forms of violence and terrorism.
