Israeli strikes killed at least six people in the Gaza Strip in separate attacks yesterday, health officials said.
Medics said an Israeli air strike in Jabaliya killed at least three people, while another air strike killed a father and his son in Khan Younis.
Later, an Israeli air strike in the Mawasi area killed at least one person and wounded eight others, health officials said.
Israel has adopted a new law making the death penalty the default sentence for Palestinians convicted of lethal attacks.
The law, which was passed late on Monday, is expected to be struck down by Israel’s Supreme Court following an appeal by rights groups as it has elements in breach of an international convention, Israeli legal experts said.
