MP Mohammed Al Olaiwi claimed that unemployment had become a source of anxiety for many households despite ongoing investment efforts.
“Young Bahrainis are graduating with strong qualifications, yet many struggle to find jobs in their fields of specialisation,” he claimed.
“We need practical solutions that compel both the government and major companies – especially those with significant state ownership – to increase the percentage of Bahrainis in their workforce.”
He added that attracting new investments and establishing large-scale industrial projects must go hand in hand with clear employment outcomes for citizens.
“This is about economic and social stability. Employment is the foundation of family security,” Mr Al Olaiwi said.
The proposal was formally referred to the Cabinet for further study.
