The Bahrain Chamber (BCCI) has officially approved the appointment of Shaker Al Helli to its board of directors for the 31st session.
Mr Al-Helli, the first alternate member, succeeds Mohammed Abduljabbar Al-Kooheji, who resigned for personal reasons.
The transition follows Article (27) of the Chamber's bylaws, which mandates that vacancies be filled by the candidate with the next highest vote count from the previous election.
The board expressed full confidence in Mr Al-Helli's professional expertise, noting his track record will bolster the Chamber’s role as the primary representative of the private sector.
The leadership stressed that the next phase requires strengthening partnerships among all stakeholders to enhance the national economy's resilience against regional and international changes.
The board also reaffirmed the private sector’s alignment with His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa as a cornerstone for safeguarding stability and development gains.
Furthermore, the board commended the balanced leadership of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, whose guidance has ensured the sustainability of the national economy amidst regional developments.
The board formally accepted Mr Al Kooheji's resignation, expressing deep appreciation for his "tangible impact" and sincere contributions during his tenure.
Moving forward, the BCCI remains committed to operating within a structured institutional framework to meet the aspirations of the business community.
This focus aims to stimulate investment and create a competitive environment that supports economic diversification and long-term growth in line with the kingdom’s national vision.
