MOTORSPORT – Bahraini-British outfit 2 Seas Motorsport showed strong pace last night in the two test sessions ahead of the season-opening weekend of the 2026 British GT Championship.
2 Seas’ Pro-Am pairing of Kevin Tse and Ben Green spearheaded their three-car entry yesterday at Silverstone Circuit in the UK, ranking in the overall top 10 in the pair of tests.
In the opening runs, held in the afternoon, Tse and Green placed fifth on the timesheet in their #18 Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo – going 1.030 seconds behind pace-setters Rob Collard and Hugo Cook of Barwell Motorsport.
2 Seas’ Charles Dawson and Kiern Jewiss – last year’s GT3 drivers’ champions who are making a one-off Pro-Am appearance in the series this weekend – followed in seventh 1.121s from the top in their #1 challenger.
Aaron Walker and Andrew Gilbert, 2 Seas’ third crew competing in the Silver-Am category in their #15 Mercedes-AMG, were 13th from the 28 cars on track, clocking 1.737s behind the leaders.
In test two, held in the evening, Tse and Green were classified eighth overall – 1.096s off the session’s best time set by Barwell’s Alex Martin and Jarrod Waberski.
Dawson and Jewiss were 17th 2.171s behind, while Walker and Gilbert finished 18th 5.133s from first place.
2 Seas, co-owned by Bahrain’s Shaikh Isa bin Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa, enter the new British GT campaign as reigning GT3 teams’ champions.
They will be back on track today for an hour-long free practice starting at 11.30am, to be followed by pre-qualifying at 2.15pm and then qualifying from 5.45pm.
That will set the stage for the season-opening three-hour race tomorrow, the Silverstone 500, scheduled to flag off at 3pm.
All times are Bahrain.
The Silverstone 500 is the first of eight rounds on the British GT’s 2026 calendar.
Rounds two and three are set for May 23 to 25 at Oulton Park, round four on June 20 and 21 at Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium, rounds five and six on August 15 and 16 at Snetterton Circuit, round seven on September 5 and 6 at Donington Park, and then round eight on September 26 and 27 at Brands Hatch.
