VOLLEYBALL – NABIH Saleh defeated Al Nasser 3-0 (25-21, 25-22, 25-20) last night as the 2025-26 His Royal Highness the Crown Prince’s Cup for volleyball got underway at Isa Bin Rashid Volleyball Arena in Riffa.
The prestigious knockout tournament features all 14 teams that are under the umbrella of the Bahrain Volleyball Association (BVA), with recently crowned champions of the 2025-26 Isa Bin Rashid Bahrain Volleyball League Dar Kulaib and runners-up Muharraq gaining automatic berths in the quarter-finals.
Nabih were the first to join them yesterday in the round of eight. They will next take on the winners of the other preliminary round contest between Bani Jamra and Ma’ameer.
This phase of the competition continues today and tomorrow with two more fixtures each evening. Tonight, A’ali go up against Ittihad Al Reef and Al Tadhamun face Busaiteen, while tomorrow Al Najma play Al Dair and Al Ahli take on Al Shabab.
In the quarters, Dar Kulaib will take on the winners from the A’ali-Ittihad Al Reef clash, while Muharraq will play the victors from the Tadhamun-Busaiteen contest.
The BVA has announced that the date of the final in this season’s HRH the Crown Prince’s Cup is scheduled for May 9.
