MORE than 250 workers and staff members of a leading professional contracting company celebrated Labour Day yesterday with fun activities and safety and health awareness programmes.
Interlock Maintenance Construction and Interlock Services, who specialise in road safety barriers, mechanical engineering works, road construction and asphalt works, staged the event at the football venue in Adhari.
The annual gathering marked its 10th year and featured a 45-minute safety training session, underpinning the importance of adhering to safety standards.
This was followed by medical and dental check-ups for the attendees as part of a Health Camp that has been organised for the last eight years.
Participants included both Bahraini and expatriate workers, who came together as one family.
A hearty breakfast got the crowd energised for a session of football and volleyball. Labourers then cooled down with a dip in the swimming pools.
Musical performances were staged throughout the day, which kept attendees entertained. Tea, snacks, and lunch were also served.
“The event is a way to show our appreciation to our team,” Interlock managing director K T Ramraj told the GDN.
“I would like to personally thank the workers for their tireless efforts,” he added.
He highlighted that the overall objective is to promote worker wellbeing, reinforce safety practices, and offer a day of relaxation and refreshment for the workers.
“I would also like to thank His Majesty King Hamad and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for enabling us to work for the Bahraini government and people,” he added.
Interlock Maintenance Construction was established in 2006 and Interlock Services in 2012.
The companies have been successfully delivering results with majority of their projects in the public sector.
