Kuwait's Minister of Justice and Chairman of the Cabinet's Legal Affairs Committee, Counsellor Nasser Al-Sumait, said the committee has unanimously approved a government program for family protection, referring it to the Cabinet for final consideration.
Al-Sumait said in a statement to KUNA that the initiative represents the first integrated government framework of its kind in Kuwait aimed at strengthening family and child protection, enhancing social stability, and improving coordination among relevant state institutions.
He noted that the committee's approval marks a transition from fragmented efforts to a unified national system built on prevention, protection, and rehabilitation, combining legislative development, digital transformation, public awareness, and improved institutional capacity in dealing with family and child-related issues. According to Al-Sumait, the program includes 83 initiatives distributed across 12 government entities within a coordinated framework designed to integrate legal, social, educational, health, and security dimensions.
He noted that the program is based on key pillars, including legislative reform, digital transformation, awareness campaigns, rehabilitation services, governance, professional efficiency, data analysis, and the development of infrastructure related to family services.
