Tourism Minister Fatima Al Sairafi yesterday visited Alia Early Intervention Centre and Alia Rehabilitation Centre, where she toured an art exhibition showcasing works by children with autism and reviewed training programmes aimed at preparing participants for employment opportunities.
The minister emphasised the tourism sector’s growing interest in supporting community talent and creating practical opportunities within the tourism industry in support of development initiatives.
The centres implemented a six-month training programme in co-operation with Le Méridien City Centre Bahrain, which resulted in several participants joining the labour market. Artwork from the exhibition was also displayed at hotel facilities in co-operation with Downtown Rotana.
The minister commended initiatives that reflect co-operation between relevant entities and the tourism sector, noting that investing in human capital and empowering different segments of society are key pillars in developing the tourism sector.
Alia Early Intervention Centre and Alia Rehabilitation Centre director Dr Shaikha Rania bint Ali Al Khalifa said the visit reflects support for individuals with autism and efforts to highlight their artistic and professional capabilities.
