Youth Affairs Minister Rawan Tawfiqi chaired the periodic meeting of the Youth Empowerment Committee in the public and private sectors, held at the Bahrain Scientific Centre for Sustainable Development Goals.
The minister affirmed that supporting and empowering Bahraini youth remains a firmly established national priority that receives the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
She also highlighted the strategic vision of Supreme Council for Youth and Sports chairman Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa which has established an advanced national approach to investing in Bahraini youth.
The minister wished the committee’s new members success in performing their roles, underscoring the importance of continuing to strengthen integration and co-operation among entities across the public and private sectors.
She noted that such efforts contribute to the formulation of quality policies and initiatives that enhance youth participation across various fields and reinforce their role as active partners in decision-making and in accelerating the kingdom’s development and progress.
She added that youth empowerment requires a supportive environment that opens wider prospects for growth and development, while enhancing young people’s capacities for innovation and creativity.
She also stressed the importance of adopting ideas and initiatives that strengthen the role of youth as influential and effective contributors to society, capable of creating sustainable positive impact across different sectors.
Participants discussed a range of proposals and qualitative initiatives aimed at empowering youth, refining their skills and developing their creative and leadership capabilities across various fields.
The meeting further addressed efforts to highlight the contributions of Bahraini youth and their distinguished national initiatives, while underscoring their vital role in the kingdom’s comprehensive development process. This reflects the committee’s commitment to continuing the development of youth-supporting policies and programmes and reinforcing youth as key partners in shaping Bahrain’s future.
