BOWLING – DEFENDING champions Riffa stayed atop the table in the Bahrain Bowling League 2026 despite being held to a tough 4-4 stalemate by Bahrain Club in the standout fixture of the season’s fourth round, played at Funland Centre’s lanes.
The match between two of the kingdom’s bowling juggernauts was hotly contested from start to finish, reflecting the close level between both teams.
Riffa won two of the three games in the match-up, including the second at 852-790 and the third at 802-722. But Bahrain Club dominated game one 875-672, which helped them register the superior overall total of 2,387 to Riffa’s 2,326 – enough to forge the draw and the split of the points.
Riffa’s Fawaz Abdulla was their top man in the clash, posting a high series of 635 pins with individual games of 211, 174, and 250.
JM Villanueva followed with a 578 series, while Ali Al Mass scored 560 and Ahmed Al Goud 553.
Khaled Sameer was Bahrain Club’s leading scorer with a 616 series. His three games included 249, 169, and 198. Emerson Gotencio was also in fine form, posting a 607 series, while Abdulla Abdulkarim scored 589 and Ahmed Fareed 575.
In another matchweek four affair, Al Hala continued their positive run with an 8-0 victory over Al Ettifaq.
Hala posted 2,103 pinfalls in their series while Ettifaq had a 1,949 score.
Ayoob Hassan was Hala’s best player with a 576 total while Hussain Ahmed finished as Ettifaq’s top man with a 531 individual score.
Um Al Hassam were also winners, defeating Busaiteen 6-2 after taking down 2,088 pins while Busaiteen had a 1,992 total.
Mohammed Al Ansari scored an individual 626 series for Um Al Hassam while Abdulrahman Al Ali had a 577 score for Busaiteen.
Finally, Sanad overcame Isa Town 6-2 in a match-up that was decided by just seven pinfalls on their overall totals, 1,824-1,817.
Sayed Moosa was the leading performer for Sanad with a 497 series while Isa Akbar had a 466 total to pace Isa Town.
After four rounds of action, Riffa improved to 28 points in first place, followed by Bahrain Club just two points behind.
Um Al Hassam were third on 22 and Sanad fourth with 20, while completing the standings from fifth through eighth, respectively, were Hala on 18, Busaiteen on 12, Isa Town on two, and Ettifaq on zero.
Bahrain Club’s Gotencio had the highest overall pinfalls total from all players with 2,647, while Riffa’s Abdulaziz Al Shaikh owns the highest average of 229.
