Legal action pledged over Buhair Valley trespassing
Social media accounts and some media platforms must be fined as a result of what they have caused to the site and its wildlife.
@adilama
Social media influencers and vloggers must take responsibility for understanding the places they feature before posting content in pursuit of likes and viral reach. Reckless promotion of sensitive or protected sites can lead to long-term ecological damage, in some cases threatening fragile ecosystems beyond recovery.
Authorities should also consider stronger action against those who create content that harms such areas, many of which have already been the subject of public petitions for protection. Although the damage has now been done, it could take at least three to five years for the site to regain its ecological balance, including its role as a habitat for resident and migratory birds during breeding and roosting seasons. Accountability is essential for those whose actions have contributed to this harm.

Good move. Either people must have the civic sense to not litter or the place must be closed off. Check the situation of Karzakan forest beach area, full of food and plastic waste. It was a popular spot for photo shoot but now its slowly degrading...
@kiranbe
Whoever is blaming social media posts or blogs needs to rethink this. These pages post a wide range of content, some even encourage responsibility and awareness of our surroundings. But instead, we act irresponsibly and then shift the blame onto social media outlets. That’s not how it works. Just because a blog or post exists doesn’t mean we should start being reckless and damaging the existing ecosystem.

Some people, wherever they go, bring destruction.

Do not despair! There are plenty of man-made places in Bahrain to crowd, trample and dump trash. Have you seen the new smash burger place on the new pavement?
@michaloney
Well done. It could be made into a tourist attraction but with proper fencing and regulations. When unregulated, it is a complete disturbance to the wildlife and area in general. People have no idea how to be gentle and work with nature.
@ms_artilicious
Ecosystem? Protected site? Really? Of course it is a valley ... But drains from nearby upcoming multistorey buildings are made there. And its stagnant water. All polluted. Even before the crowd.
@dominic__joseph
It’s shameful how people behave, it’s a natural site once damaged will never recover!
@hafeez110
Well done...Good decision taken. Please take action against people who promoted the area.
@nithin8898
A millions-of-years-old natural landmark was turned into a dumping ground for trash. Truly pathetic. Some people have no respect for nature. Great decision indeed.
