Mulling over a prize piece of Bahrain history for all to see
What a wonderful article by Stan, such an unexpected precious piece of history between Scotland and Bahrain
@betsybbahrain
I and my family were fortunate to see this piece of Bahrain’s history in Scotland in the late 1990s. Thanks to Stan for reviving a pleasant memory.

Summer ban call
The legal experts know better. But one thing that I have experienced, as a delivery rider, is that it’s extremely hot during afternoon peak hours. But I think that’s the time public needs this service more than the normal time. Mostly, we deliver more orders in that time.
@yousaf_shah_55
Hopefully restaurants have designated waiting areas that are air conditioned, don’t let them wait outside please.
@lraldecmarch
Being a motorcyclist I completely relate to this and yes there should be rest time during peak hours for delivery riders and workers in service stations, since they are both exposed to additional heat radiating from vehicles.
@umerxsr
Now the dilemma is do we priorotise ‘public needs’ or ‘workers’ health’? Consumers will not die if they do not have a coffee, but workers’ health is at great risk. It’s not an exaggeration, but for someone who understands the real deal. Not all establishments have a dedicated waiting area for delivery riders. They are waiting for the orders outdoors, under the sun, no shades at all. I cannot expound this further. I’m fully aware of business implications with regards to this matter, so let us leave it to the experts.

The government should do one thing, it should tell all restaurants that delivery riders should be allowed to sit inside during the heat. There are many restaurants that do not allow riders to sit inside. They think customers will be offended. This is completely wrong. If the riders are taken care of, it is good. Customers order more during the heat, which allows riders to earn good money. And if the government closes during these hours, riders will be affected, which will make it difficult for riders to survive.

Summer heat prompts vehicle fire prevention safety campaign
Vehicle fires and breakdowns increase significantly during extreme summer temperatures. Regular maintenance and removing heat sensitive items from vehicles are essential preventive measures.
