I am very excited to watch the Fifa World Cup, now that my school vacation has started.
I cannot wait to see legends like Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar Jr and many other superstars who have inspired fans around the world.
During this season, the whole world seems to go after just one thing – football, even though war frightens. Apart from international football, I also enjoy club football. There are many exciting competitions such as the Uefa Champions League, English Premier League, La Liga, and the Fifa Club World Cup. Famous clubs like Real Madrid, Barcelona, PSG and many others make these tournaments thrilling to watch.
However, this World Cup will be a special one for me, but also a sad one. It is likely to be the last World Cup for legendary players such as Messi and Ronaldo. At the same time, a new generation of stars is beginning their journey on football’s biggest stage. Young talents like Lamine Yamal, Doue and Arda Guller are expected to play in their first World Cup and could become the superstars of the future.
I still clearly remember the unforgettable 2022 Fifa World Cup final between France and Argentina. It was one of the most thrilling matches in football history. While Argentina was heading to a clear win, Mbappé almost turned the game around for France, but Messi and Argentina remained confident and eventually lifted the trophy after a dramatic penalty shootout.
One of the most memorable UEFA Champions League finals for me was when Paris Saint-Germain defeated Inter Milan 5-0. It was an incredible performance.
I would love to see Mbappé win the World Cup and see Ousmane Dembélé win another Ballon d’Or.
Although I am disappointed that Italy and Poland did not qualify, I am very happy that a Malayalee footballer is representing Qatar in the World Cup. It makes me proud and shows that football is growing everywhere.
The excitement has begun and I continue to watch the matches to have unforgettable moments and await the rise of new football heroes.
