St Christopher’s School Bahrain has celebrated the graduation of the ‘Class of 2026’ at Bahrain National Theatre making it a proud and memorable day for 156 students of 26 different nationalities.
The fact that 47 of the students had started at its nursery school together, with a further eight since reception, the occasion helped reflect the strong sense of continuity and community that defines St Chris.
The event brought together both students, families, teachers, support staff and distinguished guests to celebrate the achievements of the graduating class.
The ceremony was honoured by the presence of Education Minister Dr Mohammed Mubarak Juma, whose attendance underlined the importance of education in shaping future leaders of Bahrain and the wider international community.
The class of 2026 leaves behind an impressive legacy, and recognised five recipients of the renowned Crown Prince International Scholarship programme, the highest awarded to students from a single school in the programme’s history.
Head student and Crown Prince Scholarship beneficiary Omid Abdali, who will be studying economics at the UK’s prestigious Kings College in London, offered timely advice to students.
“I think that staying consistent is one of the most important things you can do. It is not always easy to stay motivated, but when you focus on keeping your head in the game and push through, you will see yourself on the other side. It is something I have experienced first hand, and I am very grateful for.”
Ms Abdali spoke of her mother being one of her biggest inspirations throughout this journey. “Whether it was the night before a big exam, or when things got stressful, she always knew how to calm me down, and I think that was one of the main reasons I got through,” she added.
This year’s graduation also carried a significant milestone, as it marked the final graduating class from St Christopher’s Isa Town campus. From August 2026, senior students will begin a new chapter in the school’s history with the opening of the new Senior School in Al Raffa.
St Christopher’s Principal Dr Simon Watson said: “We have been in Isa Town for 42 years and next year we start in an amazing new school, down in Al Raffa.”
“As these young people leave us, they do so not only with outstanding academic achievements but with confidence, character and sense of purpose needed to make a positive contribution to the world. We’re incredibly proud of all they have accomplished and look forward to following their future successes.”
The occasion also provided an opportunity to acknowledge the continued support of His Majesty King Hamad and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, whose commitment to advancing education continues to strengthen opportunities for young people across the kingdom’s development as a centre of educational excellence.
Senior School head Sarah Harrison added that the Class of 2026 has demonstrated resilience, ambition and a genuine commitment to supporting one another throughout their time at St Chris.
St Christopher’s School extends its congratulations to all members of the Class of 2026 and wishes them every success in the years ahead.
