A total of 82 wheelchairs have been distributed to 28 health centres across Bahrain through a collaboration between Kaaf Humanitarian and the Primary Healthcare Centres.
The initiative, carried out under the ‘Together for Bahrain’s Health’ programme, aims to enhance accessibility and support patients and visitors at healthcare facilities across the kingdom.
Volunteers from Kaaf Humanitarian, operating under the Al Eslah Society, played a key role in delivering the wheelchairs to the designated health centres, reflecting the organisation’s commitment to volunteerism and community service.
The initiative was supported through charitable contributions towards community and humanitarian causes in Bahrain, the organisation said in a statement.
Kaaf Humanitarian chief executive Mohammed Sayyar described the project as a successful example of collaboration between civil society organisations and government entities, praising its partnership with the Primary Healthcare Centres.
“At Kaaf, we believe that collaboration and volunteerism are essential pillars for creating sustainable social impact,” said Mr Sayyar.
“Through our contribution to the ‘Together for Bahrain’s Health’ initiative, under primary healthcare centres, we facilitated the provision and distribution of 82 wheelchairs to health centres across the kingdom, helping to support services provided to patients and visitors.
“We are also proud of the efforts of our volunteers, whose dedication reflects the values of giving and social responsibility that we hold dear.”
Mr Sayyar added that Kaaf Humanitarian will continue working alongside government bodies, private sector partners and civil society organisations to implement initiatives that promote community wellbeing and support national efforts to further enhance services for citizens and residents alike.
Established in 1940, Kaaf is one of the oldest charities in the kingdom and has been serving Bahrainis and expatriates in various ways. Last year, Kaaf supported 8,628 beneficiaries in Bahrain.
