MOTORSPORT – Bahrain International Circuit (BIC), ‘The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East’, announced yesterday the appointment of Ahmed Sami Altajer as facilities director.
Altajer brings more than 15 years of experience in infrastructure development, strategic planning, and project management.
“Ahmed Sami Altajer has extensive experience and a proven track record in overseeing major infrastructure and development projects,” said BIC chief executive Shaikh Salman bin Isa Al Khalifa.
“His expertise makes him a valuable addition to the BIC team, and we are confident that his experience and leadership skills will support the continued enhancement of our facilities and future development initiatives.
“His appointment reflects BIC’s commitment to developing and empowering Bahraini talent, and we look forward to the contributions he will make as we continue to strengthen BIC’s position as a leading international sporting and entertainment destination.”
Altajer joins BIC from the Ministry of Works, where he served as assistant undersecretary for roads and was responsible for a number of areas including policy development, strategic planning, and project oversight.
Prior to that, he spent four years at the Prime Minister’s Office as projects director and later as operations director, where he oversaw a number of government projects.
Earlier in his career, he held several positions at the Ministry of Housing, contributing to the planning and delivery of major housing and infrastructure developments.
Altajer holds a Master’s Degree in Construction Project Management from Heriot-Watt University in the UAE, as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Bahrain.
He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) through the Project Management Institute and a member of the Institution of Civil Engineers.
