HIS Majesty King Hamad has expressed Bahrain’s pride in its close strategic relations and long-standing historic partnership with the UK, built on many years of co-ordination and fruitful co-operation at all levels.
The King also highlighted the mutual commitment to further developing these ties in a manner that serves the shared interests and objectives of both countries when he met British Ambassador Alastair Long yesterday.
His Majesty commended the ambassador’s efforts in supporting bilateral relations, wishing him continued success.
In recognition of Ambassador Long’s efforts in strengthening and advancing relations between the two countries, His Majesty awarded him the Order of Bahrain (First Class).
Ambassador Long expressed gratitude to His Majesty and his pride in receiving the decoration.
He commended His Majesty’s role in advancing the strong partnership between Bahrain and the United Kingdom.
His Majesty also received Lucy Belgrave, granddaughter of Charles Belgrave.
