The Bahrain Red Crescent Society (BRCS) has launched its summer camp with the participation of a group of young men and women.
The two-week training programme, held at its headquarters, aims to develop the participants’ personal and leadership skills, strengthen the values of humanitarian and volunteer work and raise awareness of health and environmental issues.
The camp began with a workshop titled ‘Mental Health, Proper Nutrition and a Healthy Lifestyle’, delivered by several specialists.
The session focused on promoting adolescent wellbeing, encouraging healthy lifestyle choices, raising awareness of mental health, and building psychological resilience and the ability to cope with challenges.
The society added that the camp is open to young people aged 16 to 21 and will continue until July 23.
The programme covers leadership, teamwork, first-aid, emergency response, communication and public speaking skills, mental health awareness, proper nutrition, environmental protection and recycling.
It also introduces the participants to the principles of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement and the foundations of humanitarian action.
