The US state of Connecticut has officially recognised a husky for her bravery after she fiercely protected a young boy from a bear attack.
"Bella was rewarded for her bravery with a legislative citation and some treats!" wrote State Representative Joe Canino of Torrington, Connecticut, on Facebook.
The bear, captured on security footage, appears to rush towards the six-year-old boy before the family dog comes to the rescue and chases the animal away.
The dog’s owner, Jeffery Tazzara, told local media that the canine had previously protected his children from strangers, adding that it was no surprise she stepped in again.
Video of the incident has gone viral on social media, with many praising Bella for her heroic actions.
