Bahrain's Mohammed Hassan Jawad made cycling history today after winning a bronze medal at the Track Asia Cup 2026, taking place in Suphan Buri, Thailand.
Jawad secured his place on the podium in the junior men’s individual pursuit at Hua Mark Velodrome.
The 18-year-old clocked a mark of three minutes 37.529 seconds in the event, finishing not far behind gold medal winner Hussain Alsafr from Saudi Arabia, who triumphed in 3:31.248. Zeinolla Azamatuly from Kazakhstan took silver in 3:40.395.
Jawad's bronze is the first-ever medal won by the kingdom in an international track cycling event, the Bahrain Cycling Association confirmed.
