Oil and Environment Minister and Special Envoy for Climate Affairs Dr Mohammed Bin Daina met members of the 11th intake of the Prime Minister’s Fellowship Programme as part of their field visit to the ministry.
The participants were briefed on the ministry’s responsibilities and its key programmes, projects and initiatives in the oil and environment sectors.
Dr bin Daina said investing in national talent and developing specialised skills, knowledge and expertise are key to advancing Bahrain’s comprehensive development process, led by His Majesty King Hamad and supported by the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
The minister said the Prime Minister’s Fellowship Programme is an advanced national model for developing Bahraini talent, enhancing government performance and promoting a culture of excellence, innovation and institutional leadership.
Dr Bin Daina reviewed national priorities and initiatives related to environmental protection and climate change, as well as efforts to develop the oil sector and improve resource efficiency in support of sustainable development goals and Bahrain’s environmental and climate commitments.
He also noted the programme’s role in facilitating the exchange of expertise and knowledge and providing exposure to government best practices. He said this contributes to developing government talent and preparing participants for future challenges while improving government performance and service efficiency.
The minister emphasised the importance of strengthening environmental awareness among national talent and developing their ability to contribute innovative solutions to future challenges.
Members of the 11th intake said the visit provided an opportunity to learn about the ministry’s experience and institutional practices and further develop their knowledge and capabilities to contribute to government performance.
