Two Asian men were placed in provisional detention yesterday for allegedly stealing two refrigerators used for storing and displaying products intended for sale.
The Public Prosecution said that the authorities launched an investigation immediately after receiving a report about the theft, leading to the duo’s identification and arrest.
The suspects were questioned and confronted with the evidence and findings of the investigation.
They reportedly admitted to the charges against them.
They were subsequently referred to the Lower Criminal Court for trial.
The Public Prosecution vowed to take legal action against anyone who assaults or unlawfully appropriates others’ property.
“The rule of law remains the governing framework for addressing such acts, and anyone found responsible will face the penalties,” it added.
