His Majesty King Hamad has affirmed Bahrain’s commitment to promoting dialogue among civilisations and cultures to foster global harmony and contribute to peaceful coexistence and lasting peace.
His Majesty noted that this reflects the kingdom’s history as a hub for cultural exchange and religious coexistence, and a country that has long embraced diversity and pluralism.
He was speaking when he received Transportation and Telecommunications Minister, King Hamad Global Centre for Coexistence and Tolerance board of trustees chairman and King Hamad Award for Coexistence and Tolerance Judging Committee chairman Dr Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa.
Dr Shaikh Abdulla presented the King with the names of the members of the award’s judging committee.
The committee includes prominent intellectual and academic figures from Bahrain and abroad, who will assess the research and works submitted and select the winner of the inaugural edition of the international award.
His Majesty commended the distinguished members of the committee and their extensive expertise and international standing.
He wished them success in advancing the award’s humanitarian mission and objectives for the benefit of present and future generations.
His Majesty also commended the achievements of the centre since its establishment, as well as its strong international reputation.
The King reaffirmed his continued support for the centre’s initiatives as a leading institution that reflects Bahrain’s long history of tolerance, peaceful coexistence and religious freedom.
Dr Shaikh Abdulla expressed appreciation for His Majesty’s directives in launching the inaugural edition of the prestigious award.
He said the award reflects the King’s vision of promoting tolerance, civility and mutual respect.
