The municipal council of Yomra district in Türkiye has decided to name a street after Mohamed Salah following the Egyptian star's transfer to Trabzonspor, according to reports.
Salah will reside on Selvi Street in the Kaşüstü neighbourhood, where renovation work is under way for his new home.
Mayor Mustafa Bıyık proposed renaming the road "Mohamed Salah Street", expressing delight over the footballer's presence in the district.
Bıyık stated that the signing marks a landmark moment in both Trabzonspor's and Turkish football's history, bringing great pride to the local community.
He also highlighted the potential commercial benefits and elevated prestige for Yomra, noting the importance of cementing the milestone in the district's history. The council is expected to approve the renaming shortly.
