Sharjah Police have launched an investigation after two Kazakh sisters, aged 20 and 22, were found dead in their apartment.
The sisters, who moved to the UAE less than a year ago to work at a beauty salon, were reported missing after their family informed the Consulate of Kazakhstan that they had been unreachable for several days.
According to local reports, the sisters had stopped responding to messages on August 17, with family members noting that both had deleted their social media accounts and turned off their phones. Posters had also circulated on community WhatsApp groups alleging the sisters were last in touch with a Russian-speaking Kazakh man providing them accommodation.
Sharjah Police subsequently discovered their bodies inside the apartment following the missing person's report.
Their bodies were repatriated to Kazakhstan on August 28 as police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding their deaths.
