Meliá Hotels International will bring its Gran Meliá brand to the UAE for the first time with J1 Hotel, a Gran Meliá Hotel, opening in Dubai’s Jumeirah 1 in Q4 2027.
First announced in 2025, the 366-room property will feature suites, 40 accommodations with private pools, four swimming pools, direct beach access, landscaped outdoor areas, retail spaces, a ballroom, meeting facilities, fitness centre and rooftop terrace.
The hotel will become Meliá Hotels International’s third Dubai
property, joining Meliá Desert Palm and ME by Meliá Dubai.
The development will place a strong emphasis on dining, with several restaurants and bars planned.
New additions include Jul’s, a Greek-led concept originally from Ibiza, and
Tala, a Pan-Middle Eastern restaurant overlooking the marina and designed around
the concept of a “Sunlit Marina Majlis.”
They will join
previously announced venues including Zuma Beach House, which will mark Zuma’s
first beachfront location in the Middle East, and Park Chinois, which will
bring its immersive Chinese dining concept to a rooftop overlooking J1 Beach.
Novikov Restaurant & Beach Club will also open at the property, offering a Mediterranean-inspired menu, private cabanas and a semi-private beach area.
Further dining concepts are expected to be announced closer to the opening.
Wellness will form another key element of J1 Hotel. Journée Wellbeing, managed by Waring Wellbeing Hospitality, will operate a rooftop wellness sanctuary combining traditional treatments, advanced therapies, visiting practitioners, fitness and movement experiences.
The programme will include sauna ceremonies and Reformer Pilates.
Pedro Neto has been
appointed General Manager, bringing more than two decades of international
luxury hospitality experience, including 17 years with Four Seasons.
