Deputy King His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa has commended the efforts and dedication of Alba’s national workforce in maintaining production, safeguarding its competitive position in the global industrial landscape, and continuing its contribution to international aluminium output amid the hostile Iranian aggression against Bahrain.
HRH Prince Salman made the remarks during a visit to Aluminium Bahrain (Alba), where he conveyed the greetings and appreciation of His Majesty King Hamad to the company’s employees.
The Deputy King stressed that Alba, established in 1971, stands as a living testament to the dedication, expertise and capabilities of Bahrain’s national workforce.
He noted that the industrial project has maintained uninterrupted production for 55 years.
HRH Prince Salman highlighted Alba’s evolution into a leading national enterprise, noting its continued expansion and development which is exemplified by the construction of the world’s largest single-site aluminium smelter.
He emphasised Alba’s prominent position in the global aluminium industry and its significant contribution to the kingdom’s comprehensive development under the leadership of His Majesty.
HRH the Deputy King underscored that Bahrain’s world-class industrial development is the result of a decades-long vision driven by ambition and strategic planning, recognising that the sector’s progress goes hand in hand with economic growth and the development of national talent.
He noted that Bahrain’s industrial workforce continues to build on the legacy of those who laid the foundations for these achievements, demonstrating the same commitment, perseverance and excellence in overcoming challenges.
He expressed pride and appreciation for the company’s employees and their role in the continuous development of Alba’s production, enhancing product quality and strengthening its global competitiveness.
The Deputy King commended the achievements realised through the dedication of the company’s national workforce, including the milestone of recording 50 million safe working hours.
He reviewed the progress of operations across the production lines and the development projects currently being undertaken by the company.
He also met the chairman and members of the Board of Directors, as well as a number of employees, commending their commitment to fulfilling their duties and responsibilities amid various challenges.
HRH Prince Salman welcomed Alba’s recent acquisition of Aluminium Dunkerque, the largest aluminium smelter in the European Union, noting that the move supports the company’s ambitions to build a global low-carbon aluminium platform, strengthen its presence in global markets, and enhance its capacity for sustainable growth. With its advanced automation, integrated production capabilities, and strong base of skilled professionals, Aluminium Dunkerque is well positioned to benefit from growing European demand for sustainably produced aluminium.
Alba chairman Khalid Al Rumaihi expressed his appreciation for His Majesty’s recognition of the company’s employees, as well as for His Royal Highness’ visit to Alba and review of its programmes.
He said that His Royal Highness’s recognition of the company’s national workforce is a source of pride and motivation for all employees, encouraging them to continue enhancing their capabilities and contributing to the achievement of the company’s goals. A number of senior officials were also in attendance.
