Bahrain recorded the last sunset of the summer season yesterday (Tuesday, Sept 22), as the kingdom entered astronomical autumn at 3.05am today.
Bahraini astronomical researcher Mohammed Redha Al Asfoor documented the sunset from Bahrain yesterday afternoon.
Mr Al Asfoor explained that the autumnal equinox occurs when the sun is directly above the equator, causing it to rise due east and set due west. This brings night and day closer to equal length in different regions around the world.
Bahrain will experience perfectly equal day and night on Sunday, September 27, when the sun will rise at 5.28am and set at 5.28pm, Mr Al Asfoor noted.
