Gewan Hotels & Resorts has expanded the responsibilities of Amro Talaat, appointing him Chief Executive Officer UAE & Egypt.
Talaat joined the
UAE-based hospitality group as CEO UAE in November 2025 and will now oversee
the strategic, commercial and financial direction of its hotel portfolio across
both markets.
Headquartered in Abu
Dhabi and part of NG9 Holding, Gewan Hotels & Resorts is growing its
presence in the UAE and Egypt, with ambitions to expand further across the
wider MENA region.
Talaat will focus on
portfolio performance, sustainable growth, profitability, commercial strategy
and identifying new business opportunities.
With more than 15
years of experience across hospitality, travel and tourism, Talaat brings
expertise in commercial strategy, business development, revenue optimisation
and market expansion.
Before joining Gewan,
he held senior leadership positions across NG9 Holding’s hospitality and travel
businesses, contributing to commercial performance, strategic partnerships and
growth initiatives.
Talaat also held
executive roles at Nirvana Travel & Tourism, where he led major sales
operations, corporate and government travel projects and international market
expansion.
Earlier, he spent more
than a decade with Rotana Hotels, progressing through senior commercial
positions, including Complex Director of Business Development at Beach Rotana
in Abu Dhabi.
In his expanded role, Talaat will continue driving Gewan’s growth across the UAE and Egypt while supporting NG9 Holding’s broader hospitality strategy.
Talaat said: “Gewan Hotels & Resorts has strong roots in Abu Dhabi and clear ambitions for growth as a homegrown UAE hospitality group. We want to build a stronger, more competitive business, maximise the performance and value of our portfolio, and pursue the right opportunities for expansion across the UAE, Egypt, and the wider region.”
He added: “Commercial discipline will be central to that growth. This means strengthening our commercial position, building strategic partnerships, maximising the value of our portfolio, and creating a strong foundation for future expansion. Our ambition is to build a hospitality business with the scale and capabilities to grow across our existing markets and, in time, across the wider region.” -TTN
