Three people were killed and 36 injured in two separate attacks on King Khalid International Airport and Abha International Airport, the Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation announced.
Emergency teams and the relevant authorities responded immediately to the incidents, which occurred yesterday and on Tuesday, in accordance with approved procedures and contingency plans, it said.
The attack on Abha International Airport resulted in the death of two female residents from Morocco and Algeria, while 28 people were injured, including citizens and two Bangladeshi and Filipino residents, the authority said.
A Sudanese resident died in the attack on King Khalid International Airport while eight people (five citizens, two Egyptians and one Pakistani resident) sustained minor and serious injuries.
The two attacks also caused material damage.
