The Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA) has released its August 2026 foreign trade report, which encompasses data on trade balance, imports, national origin exports and re-exports.
As per the report, the value of non-oil imports has decreased by 16 per cent reaching to BD409 million in August 2026 in comparison with BD489m for same month in 2025. The top 10 countries for imports recorded 68pc of the total value of imports.
According to the report, China ranked first for imports to Bahrain, with a total of BD72m (18pc), followed by the UAE with BD44m (11pc) and Saudi Arabia with 42m (10pc).
Other Aluminium oxide recorded as the top product imported to Bahrain with a total value of BD28m (7pc), followed by turbo-jets of a thrust with BD15m (4pc) and private cars being the third with BD14m(3pc).
On the other hand, the total value of non-oil exports (national origin) decreased by 56pc to reach BD153m during August 2026, compared with BD350m for same month in 2025. The top 10 countries in exports (national origin) accounted for 78pc of the exports (national origin) value.
Saudi Arabia ranked first among countries for then non-oil exports (national origin) with BD50m (33pc). The US was second with BD19m (12.4pc) and the UAE was third with BD18m (11.8pc).
Unwrought aluminium alloys recorded as the top products exported in August 2026 with BD42m (27pc), followed by aluminium wire alloyed with a value of BD16m (10pc) and aluminium wire not alloyed with BD13m (8pc).
The total value of non-oil re-exports decreased by 28pc to reach BD46m during August 2026, compared with BD64m for the same month in 2025. The top 10 countries in re-exports accounted for 84pc of the re-exported value. The UAE ranked first with BD16m (35pc) followed by Saudi Arabia with BD8m (18pc) and the US with BD4m (9pc).
As per the report, gold ingots was the top product re-exported from Bahrain with a value of BD8m (17pc), followed by turbo-propellers of a power BD3.8m (8.3pc), and other parts of airplanes came third with BD3.7m (8.02pc).
As for the trade balance, which represents the difference between exports and imports, the trade deficit recorded BD210m in August 2026 compared with a deficit of BD75m in August 2025.
