A MAJOR tender for the development of a multi-storey factories project in Salman Industrial City has been launched by the Industry and Commerce Ministry.
Announced on the sidelines of the Made in the Gulf 2026 forum and exhibition, the initiative aims to optimise industrial land investment by offering flexible, high-efficiency spaces designed to help small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and industrial pioneers expand their operations.
Located in the Bahrain International Investment Zone (BIIP) in Hidd, the project covers a total land area of 6,700 square metres, featuring a horizontal construction footprint of approximately 2,680 square metres and a total built-up area of around 10,720 square metres.
Under the tender terms, the winning bidder will enter into a land lease agreement with the ministry. The developer will be responsible for constructing, managing, and operating the multi-storey facility, including the exclusive leasing of industrial units to eligible SMEs and emerging industrial leaders in accordance with local regulatory standards.
“The multi-storey factories project serves as a model for maximizing the efficiency of industrial land utilisation while providing flexible options for start-ups and SMEs to launch and grow,” said Industry and Commerce Ministry Industrial Areas Director Mohamed Khaled Noor.
He highlighted that the project goes beyond basic space allocation to establish a modern infrastructure model tailored to contemporary light industries. By reducing initial capital expenditure for new entrants, the facility aims to foster a dynamic environment for a new generation of industrial ventures.
The ministry emphasised that introducing this project during Made in the Gulf 2026 underscores Bahrain’s commitment to building strong industrial enablers, helping domestic businesses scale and access broader regional and GCC markets.
Interested investors and specialised development companies can view full project specifications and submit their bids via the Tender and Auction Board electronic portal (etendering.tenderboard.gov.bh).
The deadline for tender submissions is December 23, 2026.
