Two Bangladeshi nationals have been arrested in Kuwait for allegedly refilling branded perfume bottles with counterfeit liquids and selling them as genuine products.
Investigations revealed that the suspects created custom oil blends to imitate luxury scents before selling the bottles at a fraction of their original retail price.
Officials arranged for the purchase of three fake perfume bottles for KD17 (approx BD21) that usually retail for KD150 (approx BD183).
During interrogation, one suspect admitted receiving a monthly wage to prepare the fragrances, leading police to a residential flat used for mixing and storage.
Kuwaiti authorities seized approximately 4,000 counterfeit bottles during the raid and referred both suspects for prosecution.
