A curious bear was caught on security camera walking around a local library in California on Wednesday (October 14).
The black bear was spotted at the library in Mammoth Lakes at about 6 am local time, hours before the facility opened.
No damage to books was reported but the bear did find its way into snacks for library staff.
According to Josef Bopp, the Director of Libraries at the Mono County Free Libraries, how the bear got inside the library is up for investigation as library doors were locked at the time.
Although a heartwarming visit, Bopp also emphasised the importance of local bear-awareness protocols to keep library visitors and wildlife safe.
