The kingdom’s national flag was flying over the Olympic Village in Tokyo, along with the flags of other nations participating in the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 starting today.
The flags were raised without the usual flag-raising ceremonies and playing of the national anthems due to precautionary Covid-19 measures applied by the organising committee.
Bahrain’s delegation to the Games comprises 68 members, including officials and athletes, in addition to technical, administrative and media personnel.
Bahrain will, for the first time, compete in five sports, namely athletics, handball, boxing, swimming and shooting.
