A TASTY slice of the Italian cuisine with premium ingredients ranging from fresh fruits and vegetables to sauce, cheese and olives are now on sale at the LuLu Hypermarkets across Bahrain.
The week-long ‘Let’s Eatalian’ celebration in collaboration with the Italian Embassy and the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) kicked off yesterday in style at the hypermarket’s Atrium Mall outlet in Saar with a saxophone concert. A live Italian cuisine cookery demo by renowned food consultant, chef and restaurateur Susy Masseti was the other attraction.
The festival opened by the Italian Ambassador Paola Amadie and LuLu group director Juzer Rupawala, will run until Saturday at all eight outlets of the store across Bahrain.
A range of around 40 new Italian products are on the shelves of the hypermarkets, as part of the promotion, according to Ms Amadie.
“With this excellent collaboration with LuLu Hypermarket, this festival gives an opportunity to bring to Bahrain a new range of Italian products,” she told the GDN.
“Around 40 new products are on the promotion.
“This celebration helps to present these products to the Bahraini public, giving them a chance to try them.”
The live cooking demo by Ms Masseti brought back memories of home, noted the envoy.
“She used some ingredients that are important in our cooking like virgin olive oil and mozzarella, among others – it was nostalgic.
“I call upon all to try out Italian cooking and recipes.”
Mr Rupawala noted that the hypermarket chain aims to continue similar co-operation with the embassy and ITA.
“The festival caters to the palate of Italian food lovers as well as others who would wish to explore the taste and goodness of Italian ingredients at affordable prices,” he told the GDN.
“We are glad to partner with the Italian Embassy and ITA to reaching this collection – a true slice of the world’s chosen cuisine, to the people in Bahrain.
“We will continue this co-operation in the future.
“The week ahead – we hope to see our customers and others enjoying the taste of Italy at all our outlets across Bahrain.”
