MANAMA: Citi has won a total of 36 awards in the Global Finance magazine’s 2021 World’s Best Consumer Digital Banks and Best Corporate/Institutional Digital Banks Awards in the Middle East.
In the category of institutional banking, and for the ninth year in a row, Citi Bahrain has won the award for the ‘Best Overall Corporate/Institutional Digital Bank’.
The bank also won the ‘Best Online Cash Management’ and ‘Most Innovative Digital Bank’ awards for the second year running.
New to Citi’s list of awards this year were the ‘Best Mobile Banking Adaptive Site’ and ‘Best in Social Media Marketing and Services’.
As for consumer banking, Global Finance named Citi Bahrain as the winner of the ‘Best Information Security and Fraud Management’ award for the fourth year and the ‘Best Mobile Adaptive Banking Site’ award.
“The awards for our corporate and consumer businesses reflect the teams’ work towards developing an app and website that serves customers’ banking needs and at the same time they are a testament to our actions to ensure our digital channels are safe and efficient,” said Michel Sawaya, chief executive of Citi Bahrain.
Winning banks were selected based on the following criteria: strength of strategy for attracting and servicing digital customers, success in getting clients to use digital offerings, growth of digital customers, breadth of product offerings, evidence of tangible benefits gained from digital initiatives, and web/mobile site design and functionality.
Category winners were selected based on the relative strength and success of those web products and services.
