GLOBAL superstar Khalid Robinson will be performing at Al Dana Amphitheatre in Sakhir on December 8.
He is the second artist to take the stage at Bahrain’s newest live entertainment destination, after singing sensation Rashed Al Majed wowed the crowd earlier this month.
“Eager fans will be thrilled to know that multi-platinum selling global superstar Khalid will be performing live on December 8,” said Al Dana Amphitheatre in a statement yesterday.
The American R&B singer catapulted into fame when he released his first single, the five times platinum ‘Location’, right before his high school graduation, earning his spot as one of Time’s Most Influential People of 2019.
The Pop prodigy landed a major label deal followed by the release of his debut album, the double platinum certified ‘American Teen’.
His second album, ‘Free Spirit’, debuted at number one on the Billboard Top 200, earning more than 5.3 billion streams worldwide.
Khalid has since collaborated with some of music’s biggest stars on his number one singles, such ‘Love Lies’ with Normani, ‘Eastside’ with Halsey and Benny Blanco, in addition to working with Billie Eilish, Shawn Mendes, Marshmello and more on many of his hits.
Earlier this year, Khalid announced the release of his third album, ‘Everything Is Changing’, which, he says, is about finding “a purpose and a sense of self in a world where everything is digitally connected but emotionally disconnected”.
Located adjacent to the Bahrain International Circuit, the amphitheatre is set to become a key player in the region’s entertainment industry, seamlessly bringing together the desert landscape and state-of-the-art technology.
The GDN reported that the venue’s outdoor setting and unique natural acoustics aim to provide ‘the ultimate experience’ for all stage performances and live entertainment.
Guests enter a plaza, a space filled with a variety of food, beverages and retail stands, before moving to the heart of the venue, a 10,000-seat open-air theatre, where they will ‘experience the magic of entertainment under the stars’.
