ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Dr Abdullatif Al Zayani took part in the extraordinary meeting of foreign ministers from the Organisation of Islamic Co-operation to discuss financial assistance for Afghanistan.
The meeting held in Islamabad issued a resolution affirming the commitment of the OIC member states to preserve the territorial sovereignty of Afghanistan.
The resolution called upon all countries, the United Nations and international organisations to continue providing all possible assistance for the rehabilitation of Afghanistan. It also stressed the importance of combating terrorism in Afghanistan.
The meeting also issued a resolution on Palestine and the Holy City of Jerusalem, in which it affirmed the importance of the Palestinian issue and condemned Israel’s illegal measures to change the legal status and character of the Holy City of Jerusalem, and called on the member states and the international community, including the UN Security Council, to bear their responsibilities in this regard.
