CHICKEN pasta was the cuisine of choice for home delivery this year, according to the country’s leading food delivery platform.
Summative order details revealed by Talabat indicate that chicken pasta was more popular than chicken shawarma sandwiches, pizza and potato wedges.
“The most popular food item ordered on New Year’s Eve last year by far was also chicken pasta, proving that the delicious pastas are the most delectable treat to begin the year with – along with favouring soft drinks as a celebratory beverage of choice,” said a statement.
Bahrain’s favourite sauce is garlic mayonnaise, while apple pies and Oreo ice cream were the most popular desserts, as far as deliveries go.
Although coffee remained a popular item in the morning, the ubiquitous quick commerce platform also found that many coffee-lovers placed orders around 7pm for an ‘after-work kick’.
“Everyone did their best to stay a bit healthier this year, with fruits and vegetables taking the lead as the most ordered grocery items on Talabat Mart!” the company added, when talking about its in-house delivery-only grocery market.
“Many of our users chose to place their last-minute grocery orders around 7pm in the evening, choosing to finish their day with a filled fridge!”
