A TEENAGER who hurled Molotov cocktails at policemen has been jailed for three years.
The 19-year-old Bahraini was arrested after he pelted officers with firebombs near Sitra police station on February 14 last year.
He was part of a gang of five who placed garbage, tyres and debris on a street before dousing them with petrol and setting them ablaze.
Policemen were dispatched to clear the illegal road block near the police station where rioters, who lay in ambush, pelted them with Molotov cocktails.
The teenager managed to flee on foot, but was later arrested based on DNA evidence lifted from firebombs.
He was found guilty of arson and rioting by the High Criminal Court on Wednesday.
He was the only person to be implicated in the case as the identities of his accomplices could not be ascertained.
