TEENAGERS interested in space are being given a chance to reach for the stars by joining an educational camp to the US.
The National Space Science Agency (NSSA), in collaboration with Dubai-based Orbital Space, yesterday announced the launch of the Stars Camp initiative, spearheaded by Kuwait-based Mapping and Assessing Personal Progress (MAPP) Education.
The camp, for youngsters aged 15 to 18, aims to promote alternative approaches in teaching the principles and basics of STEAM (science, technology, engineering, the arts and mathematics), and to provide unique learning environments for students through inspiring practical training and activities that stimulate the mental skills of the students.
The Expedition 23 will feature space education activities, cultural engagements, leadership and team-building training from July 20 to 30.
“The programme will be at actual astronaut training and work facilities, such as Nasa Johnson Space Centre in Houston, Texas and Kennedy Space Centre at Cape Canaveral in Florida,” said a NSSA statement.
