MANAMA: Bahrain Airport Services (BAS) has signed a three-year standard ground handling agreement (SGHA) with InterGlobe Aviation (IndiGo) for line maintenance services.
As part of the agreement, BAS will be providing scheduled technical certification services for IndiGo flights departing from the Bahrain International Airport.
The SGHA outlines BAS’ high-level offering while further showcasing the capabilities of its line maintenance services in partnership with InterGlobe Aviation.
Commenting, Mohammed Khalil, chief executive of BAS, said: “We are pleased to be partnering with IndiGo, India’s largest passenger airline, to provide them with our best-in-class line maintenance services on par with international standards. BAS looks forward to extending its collaborations with internationally renowned airlines demonstrating our commitment to enhancing our services.”
The SGHA entitles BAS to issue certificates of release to service after scheduled maintenance checks as well as defecting rectification, troubleshooting, component replacement and minor repairs within the scope of the authorisation.
Meanwhile, in a separate announcement BAS announced the renewal of its ISO/IEC 17025:2017 certification.
The accreditation assessment was completed in May 2022 by the ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB).
The ISO 17025:2017 certification reiterates the company’s ability to demonstrate its calibration and testing activities competently and generate reliable results to boost confidence in its global operations.
