Nearly 100 teachers were honoured yesterday in a heartfelt celebration marking World Teachers’ Day.
MP Mohammed Al Olaiwi paid tribute to educators who, he said, had played a lasting role in shaping his own life as well as the lives of generations of Bahrainis.
The ceremony, held at Al Banna Events Hall in Muharraq, coincided with World Teachers’ Day and was held as part of the ‘Giving Back’ (Radd Al Jameel) initiative. Mr Al Olaiwi organised the event in co-operation with the Jabr Alkhawater voluntary team, led by Fatima Bucheeri.
The gathering brought together teachers and educators to celebrate their dedication, years of service and contribution to Bahrain’s education journey.
“Standing before this gathering of my teachers was an exceptional moment for me. I felt both humbled and deeply moved, because many of these teachers accompanied me throughout my educational journey, from primary school until secondary school,” the MP said.
He said the reunion brought back cherished memories and created an atmosphere of happiness and warmth among the teachers.
“They were able to sit together, talk, remember the old days and enjoy time with colleagues after years in which each person had become busy with their own journey. Seeing that happiness among them was one of the most beautiful parts of the occasion,” he added.
