The British School of Bahrain (BSB) is the leading British academic school in the kingdom and their examination results at A level are regularly the best in the country, with the school being ranked first for the highest A level results in Bahrain for 2021.
This year, students and staff are celebrating yet another fantastic set of results for A level students, with much cause for pride and congratulations to a brilliant cohort of students who now progress to some of the best universities in the world, including Ivy League and Russell Group universities.
The Class of 2022 has always made a hugely positive mark on the British School of Bahrain by giving so much of themselves to both the school and local community. Everyone at BSB is, therefore, delighted that this group of talented students could finish their time at the school on such a high note.
There are many points of success, and families throughout Bahrain will be celebrating today. With 55pc of the year group achieving at least one A* grade and almost a quarter of the cohort achieving straight A*/A grades, there is much to celebrate at the British School of Bahrain.
“The BSB Class of 2022 has achieved so much during their time at the school, and I am delighted by their successes in the challenging A Level examinations. This delightful group of students have shown resilience throughout the global pandemic and met every challenge with vigour and determination,” executive headmaster, John Maguire said.
“While BSB was renowned for offering the best online learning in the country, for these students taking in-person examinations was not easy after two years of disruption due to Covid-19. They have achieved so much, and I am proud of every BSB pupil for what they have achieved both in their academic results and also in so many areas of school life. I look forward to them now becoming esteemed BSB alumni and going off to the best universities in the world,” he added.
BSB is renowned within the region for providing a world-class holistic education that encourages individuals to pursue their passions in a diverse range of subjects and interests. This excellence across a broad spectrum of subjects reflects the ethos of such a highly-successful school. Arabic language once again shone with all students being awarded an A* or A grade.
Senior school head Wayne Ridgway is absolutely delighted to see the success of the graduating class of 2022 despite the turbulence they experienced over the entirety of their A Level and BTEC courses. “They have achieved fantastic results and now head off to some of the best universities around the world to begin their next chapter. Throughout their entire journey, they have embodied our BSB values through their school work, projects, extra-curricular pursuits and, of course, their academic achievement,” he said.
“None have shined through with more determination, ambition, and resilience, which enabled them to exceed even their own expectations. I am also proud of the outstanding BSB staff, who go above and beyond for their students in order to provide them with the skills and knowledge necessary to be successful in their sixth form studies and beyond. The class of 2022 leave BSB as humble, determined and confident young adults ready to flourish in their chosen future pathways,” Mr Ridgway concluded.
BSB has always been known for its excellence in science, technology and economics, reflecting the bright future of Bahrain. The school is delighted that every one of its information technology students achieved the highest grade possible of A* in this subject, while over half of all economics students achieved an A* or A grade. There was also success in art and Spanish, reflecting the abundant talents of the BSB Class of 2022.
