Bahrain has congratulated Britain’s King Charles III on his accession to the throne.
His Majesty King Hamad sent a cable to King Charles yesterday, expressing his sincere congratulations.
The King wished him success in continuing the march of development and prosperity witnessed by the UK and following in the footsteps of Queen Elizabeth II who laid the foundation of the modern kingdom and worked on achieving the aspirations of the British people.
His Majesty took pride in the deep and advanced relations between the two royal families and friendly peoples, stressing keenness of the kingdom on further cementing historical ties.
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, also sent a cable of congratulations to King Charles. He affirmed Bahrain’s keenness, under His Majesty’s leadership, to continue boosting the ties.
The death of the 96-year-monarch after 70 years on the throne has set in train long-established plans for days of national mourning and a state funeral next Monday.
